David Starkey’s Observations on the Riots

Some excellent observations by historian David Starkey on the nature of the recent riots to sweep a number of England’s cities: the corrosive impact of “black culture” and its adoption by wiggas. The interview below was initially screened on BBC2's Newsnight.

  1. I'd like someone to tell me what's positive about this black 'gangsta' culture. As far as I can work out it's racist, sexist, homophobic, nihilistic and glamorises violence.

And, of course there's also the negative effect on the language of the people who subscribe to this culture; they're unable to pronounce the letter 't', always replacing it with a glottal stop...and they have difficulty with the 'th' phoneme too; usually pronouncing it as a 'd'. In effect, this makes them unemployable.

  2. There was something fishy about the whole thing: mentioning Old Aynock on the Beeb is liking saying Voldemort's name out loud in Hogwarts, usually. Also notice the presenter check her clipboard when Starkey first mentions Powell: it was on the agenda.

Starkey fluffs the issue: Powell's fear is not weight of numbers, but rather the way that 'the system' will be skewed in favour of the immigrants, and to the detriment of everybody else. We call it 'PC' nowadays.

Also Starkey's points are often near-gibberish, lack focus, and were hilariously ill-prepared eg, when the black lady asks him to name a rap song (Was Starkey supposed to stand up and give us a few verses of 'Shoot de Battyman In 'Im 'Ead, Boom!"?). Starkey is a polished enough debater to have seen that one coming a mile off. But he didn't.

Also, if you or I went on and started quoting Old Aynock, we would be given a much rougher ride than Starkey was given: he got off very lightly indeed.

Fall guy? More like collusion. David Starkey: the first White Uncle Tom.
